Enhance your Social Life with Salsa

Salsa is a great way to meet new people. It has the following advantages:

1. You get to meet and talk to many people in one evening.

2. You have an obvious conversation opener: "How long have you been dancing salsa?", so if you are shy about talking to people for the first time, this is a really non-pressurised way to strike up a friendship.

3. Most people come to classes regularly - say every week for 6 weeks. That means you see the same faces again and again, and it is very conducive to striking up friendships.

4. Because the classes are on at a sociable time of day it is very easy to suggest you meet for coffee/ something stronger before the class, and so get to know each other outside of the salsa environment.

5. It is a context that welcomes all different kinds of people, of different ages, nationailities and backgrounds. If you're new to the country, it is an opportunity to get to know some locals as well as fellow expatriates

Finding Love with Salsa

Salsa is great for expanding your social life generally, but in particular for meeting someone special. Salsa has many of the benefits of an activity such as speed dating, but in a genuine, rather than contrived environment.

1. Meet and dance with up to 50 members of the opposite sex within one night's class and social dancing.

2. Spending a few minutes with someone in a structured way gives you the chance to suss them out without the pressue of making conversation.

3. If the chemistry is right, you can then have a drink after class and take things further. If there is no spark between you, there is nothing lost and no embarrassment on either side - you had a fun dance together and that's it.

Countless couples have met in salsa, and now, 12 years after I started teaching here we have myriad couples who met in salsa then danced salsa for the first dance at their wedding.

Salsa Singles Nights

We offer dedicated salsa singles nights where everyone in the class has their eyes open to meet someone. we get a mixture of regular dancers and non-dancers at these nights, so whether you want to see if that cute guy in your class is single, or you would like to meet someone from outside salsa, but in the non-cringy context of a fun dance class, what have you got to lose?
